5 Tips For Increasing Blog Traffic
You are about to discover 5 Tips To Increase Your Blog Traffic from my guest blogger Ryan Biddulph! Ryan is a master when it comes to generating more traffic and how to actually enjoy the ride.
So let’s get right to it.
Unless you crave publishing a cyber diary you likely want to drive traffic to your blog.
I’ve yet to meet a blogger who had absolutely no desire to boost their blog traffic.
Even “not quite Buddhist monk like detached but pretty darn chill” me likes to see a nice surge in blog traffic here and there.
I’ve found that following these 5 tips boosts your blog traffic significantly over the long haul.
1: Stay on Topic
Stay on topic.
Increase your blog traffic.
Or stray off course.
To decrease blog traffic.
I have persistently blogged about blogging tips on Blogging From Paradise, helping increase my blog traffic.
Readers see me more and more as a blogging tips authority. Said readers return to my blog regularly and promote me to their friends, increasing my blog traffic through both channels.
2: Grow an Email List
Growing an email list is an easy way to generate blog traffic.
Think traffic on demand.
When I publish a new post and send it to my 3 subscribers – just making sure you’re paying attention – ok, to my more than 3 subscribers, it’s instant traffic. Or traffic on demand.
People tend to check their email religiously. Grow your list. Use a pop up form and static sidebar opt in form. Toss in a slider that scrolls as readers scroll 50% down your page and for good measure I’d add a tiny PUSH pop up too, for folks who just want immediate notification and a link to your latest post as soon as you publish.
3: Guest Post
Guest posting is one reason why I built a rapidly expanding following over the past 4 months.
No doubt blog commenting played a role in my email list and traffic surge but guest posting on respected blogs from within my niche was about my #1 strategy for tripling my subscriber base in 4 months.
Write 1000 words daily in a Word document. Just for practice.
Most bloggers may build strong bonds and promote other bloggers generously but rarely practice their writing, which is like trying to duel someone swinging a Samurai sword with a plastic butter knife.
Find your writing voice. Write with clarity. Promote other bloggers freely. Build friendships. Receive invites to guest post. Gobble up those invites.
Boost your blog traffic.
4: Comment Effectively on Blogs
Note the word “effectively”.
A one line, comment drive-by just will not cut it.
Spam comments way off topic will not cut it either.
I just checked my blog comments a few minutes ago. After 2 hours since my last check I spotted 18 spam comments and 2 legit comments.
Unless you want to see your comments fly into the spam queue you need to share your thoughts in an intelligent, helpful, generous and authentic fashion. Create a 2-4 paragraph, genuine comment to drive traffic to your blog.
Personalize comments. Dissect some point made in the post. Share your experiences with the blog topic.
Both readers and the blogger themselves will tend to click your link and visit your blog if you publish a helpful, thorough comment, driving traffic to your blog.
5: Answer Questions on Quora
I have generated over 120,000 view on my Quora answers.
The platform offers new and veteran bloggers an opportunity to serve people and to drive blog traffic.
Answer questions. Position yourself as an authority. Increase traffic to your blog.
I attracted more than 1 blog commenter and list subscriber through Quora. A lot more.
How are you increasing your blog traffic?
