Your Goals/Your Intentions
For most people your goals aren’t really something that you give much thought to, but this is one of the first steps to accomplishing them.
This past week I took some time to unplug from everything and just spent some quality time with my family and friends.
When I got home last night though I sat down and wrote out these 5 tips to help set & achieve your goals in life, then used the formula to help set my next goals I am looking to achieve.
That’s right start by prioritizing your goals and making specific plans to support them.
Getting specific about your goals is the best way to put power behind your intentions and bring your dreams closer to reality.
1. Focus On Your Intention To Help Reach Your Goals
Do you have a clear game plan to help you reach your goals?
Most of us wish for a better job, a better car, a bigger house, ect… but wishing for these things really doesn’t accomplish anything now does it.
What you really need to do is to sit down in a quiet spot and really think about what it is that you want, this is going to help you start setting your goals.
You don’t want to just go and start setting any old goals that are going to be easy for you to accomplish.
If you cannot think of any then perhaps you haven’t tapped into what your intention really is about.
Why do you want to do this or to make it happen?
Who is involved?
What do you want to accomplish and what are the obstacles to overcome?
Where will it take place?
When will it begin and end?
You want to start making a list, answer these questions above to help you reach your goals. This will empower your intention. Just be honest with yourself.
2. Find A Mentor To Help Reach Your Goals
Find someone who inspires you and try to follow in their footsteps to help reach your goals. This can be anyone, your neighbor, a teacher, perhaps a member of your family, if you don’t have anyone in mind, start looking around on the internet.
You can find thousands of successful people out there, sign up for a free training or download on their website. This way you will get on their subscriber’s list and you will start receiving e-mails from them so you can find out what they are up to.
You could also ask to become their friends on facebook, ibotoolbox, twitter or any other social networking site that you may find, just watch them and see what they are doing, then do it.
These are people who will help you get the skills needed in order for you to reach your goals.
3. Engage Your Imagination To Help Reach Your Goals
Do a mental practice with yourself, giving the message to your mind, the message that your goal has already taken place.
Did you ever hear the saying what you think about you bring about?
This does work, so picture this image in your mind first thing in the morning throughout the day and make this the last thought of the day.
Start by writing out your goals, read these often this will help you to believe your goals can become your reality.
4. Find Business Associates To Help Reach Your Goals
Whatever your goals may be consider focusing on it through the power of a group. The internet is a great place to find like minded individuals.
Find a group and ask to join, I do belong to a few Awesome Groups, so if you are interested just ask.
You can then start asking questions and get the answers that you need.
Once you start getting involved your mindset will change and you will move closer to reaching your goals.
You may not think that your mindset has anything to do with setting your goals, but I am here to tell you that it does.
If you are having any problems at all setting your goals then you need to work on your mindset first.
5. Break Your Goals Into Clear Steps
The path to your success is to break the tasks down into chunks. Without doing this you can become overwhelmed and it may never manifest for you.
Ok Lets simplify this all for you here.
Identify a simple task that you can accomplish and then specify when you will do this, as well as how you are going to this to make your goals become your reality?
Completing these tasks will build your confidence and bring you closer to your goals.
Remember taking baby steps to reach your goals is easier than taking huge leaps.
Some suggestions to achieve this would be to put up a bulletin board with pictures quotes, anything that will help you to accomplish those goals you set for yourself.
Keep a log of everything you do, this will keep you focused. You will now be on your way to making your goals a reality.
If you do not have a plan in place to help you follow those good intentions to reach your goals and you don’t know the steps to help you get there. You’re not alone.
