Do You Have A Social Media Strategy Plan?

My Social Media Strategy Plan

Since the first of the year I have a put a social media strategy plan together, let’s see how it is working for me.

Let’s face it traffic is the bloodline to our business Right?

What kind of marketing strategies do you use?

Today I am just going to share with you some of the strategies that I have been using and then let you decide if this will work for you.

My Social Media Strategy Sites I Use

What is the first thing you do when someone adds you as a friend or a contact to any of these social media sites?

You head on over and read their about page Right?

Well then get your about me page filled out, I am always amazed at how many people don’t have anything here, yet they claim to be a social media expert.

Interesting HUH?

Lets look at how to do this on FaceBook all you do is hit that “update info” button right there on your banner.

Go ahead and fill in everything that is what it is there for!

Once inside take a look at the first button on the left, your work experience, this is where you want to add your fan page.

Don’t have one?

Get One?

They are free and super easy to set up just follow the steps.

Let’s talk about your fan page here for a minute, this is big part of my social media strategy,

You don’t think people are watching you?

Take a look at the post below here!

FaceBook Wow

74 Seen This-> Are You Kidding Me?

Get this done make is part of your social media strategy plan, this is where the people are.

It doesn’t matter which social media site I am using I always start each day with a Hello and end each day with a Nighty Night!

I always add some sort of a picture that I grab from Google to go along with this, adding a picture will help you get more views.

Now let’s head on over to LinkedIn, when I first started my social media strategy plan in January I only has 23 connections I now have 500+ Sweet HUH?

Take a look at these results below:

20 Likes  21 Comments

If you stay consistent, post regularly and start engaging with these people, they will click through to see what you are up to and this is the importance of your social media strategy plan in the first place Right?

When I first added Twitter to my social media strategy I had about 100 followers and wasn’t even sure how I got them HEHE  Up to date I have almost 3000 followers.

Twitter allows you to put your keywords in for your about section, this is right on your homepage. They also let you put in two live URL’s but they do limit the amount of characters you can have, so make these choices wisely.

I have learned the key is to keep your eye on the connections. You just click on the connect button right on the top left on your home page.

Here is where you are going to find every post where your name comes up. Now go and reply to all of them. I also recommend welcoming every single new contact you get.

Yes it is work, but work well worth doing, I am having fun, reaching out and talking to everyone and I have made some great friends as well as business partners along the way. Sweet HUH?

The last site and my all time favorite is G+! In January I knew nothing about this site not saying I know everything but I am having a crazy good time here.

My social media strategy plan is to just post regular updates throughout the day.

Yes of course occasionally I share something about my business with a link to my blog post or a video but for the most part I share uplifting, motivational and positive things that draw people to me and then I simply start talking to them.

So do you think a social media strategy plan will work for you?

Please let me know what you think with a comment below.

As always, thanks for visiting my blog!

    Hi Chery!

I always look forward to your “Good Morning” posts on Facebook. It is imperative that we are on social media. It’s a place to mingle and get to know people more. Unfortunately, some people get “stuck” on social media, wasting all their time.

But you have a good plan girl. It just takes popping into a few of them at least twice a day and there you go. Scroll down too and comment and as long as you are persistent, you will make great friends.

I also love Google+ because it’s a great platform for me to scan what is interesting and find new people. I also do a lot of sharing there!

Hello Holly, I do it agree it can be time consuming, but as with anything else we do you just put it in your schedule. Thanks for the comment and the visit, Chery :))

Well done Chery and I have to say your posts are among the most interesting that come through the feed. I don’t think it’s difficult to earn more exposure on social media, however (as you point out) it does take planning because it’s so tempting to keep putting it off until you have more time. Thanks for setting the standard!

    Hey Chery,

Great article and case study to take a look at. Recently I have seen a loot of success with stumbleupon, In about a week I say about 5000 visitors. Not sure if stumbleupon likes my syndicated content or what but it is quite amazing. Only thing is trying to optimize Stumbleupon traffic is quite tricky because a large portion are only on your site for a few seconds, so the main welcoming stretch on your site must be optimized perfect to keep them on your site. It has been fun playing with the traffic :)

I honestly don’t know how you keep up with it all, Chery, but it’s an excellent strategy! I’m on all the same social media sites, but I need to get focused and work on one at a time, doing well on each before I work on another… and eventually I’m sure I’ll find it’s not so overwhelming or time-consuming.

    Chery, super empowering!

Way to go with getting those numbers up. More to come with all that passion of yours.

I feel comfortable saying you have changed lots of people’s attitudes. They, common about it all the time. Wake-up sharing appreciation is what it’s all about. You display this each day.

My focus is on the same sites with adding one you have also, yet I do not see you adding to it? Sendcere is your site as well as mine. It is like Pinterest yet better. That is what I would like to hear about you sharing with us on the usage.

    Chery, keep me smiling…

    • says

Hello Bill! I actually forgot about this site but I was just working on a few X-Mas cards and they mentioned Sendcere, now here you are again reminding me of this once again.

Perhaps this is a sign, but as you know I am very busy right now, so perhaps this may be something I will look into in 2015.

Thanks for starting out the conversation here today, I do appreciate it.. Chery :))
