Are You Letting Fear Stop You From Reaching Your Goals?
Today I am going to talk to you about how to work with this fear so it doesn’t dominate you.
This post comes while I am sitting here in the mountains of Colorado debating about what I am going to do when I get back home in the next few days.
So let’s get started…
Why do we let fear get in our way in the first place?
Well I have learned that this is just a thought that comes from something that we have experienced that has triggered this feeling that gives a rise to this emotion.
What this means is that you have done something in the past that creates this sensation in your body, a feeling that you have that generates this feeling we all call fear.
Let’s Talk About Me Here, Climbing In The Mountains Of Colorado
This is something new for me, an experience that gives a rise to a thought.
Will I fall?
Will I get hurt?
There is something here because this feeling scares us, makes us afraid whether we are conscious about this or not.
Fear is just how our mind interprets the situation.
You need to just learn how to interpret things differently in your minds eye.
For instance when your child climbs up on the couch and slips off the side you could just say “he or she is not hurt this is just all part of the learning process.”
See now by reacting this way you are also teaching him or her to react differently as well.
If you immediately jump up and grab him what kind of an impression is this leaving for him?
Laugh It Off & Just Kiss The Boo Boo!
I bet he crawls right back up and gives it another go..
See how this way of thinking is beneficial?
This just helps you not to create a fear in the first place.
Becoming Conscious About What Fear Really Is
When you begin to become more conscious to your thoughts meaning to interpret things in a healthy way instead of thinking this is wrong you will now find it much easier to move forward with your life.
What Is Stopping You?
This is your fear trigger that I was just talking about above.
What are you resisting?
Remember this is your reaction to something from the past and it is up to you to come up with a solution to over come this fear.
So instead of letting your mind take control you are going to take control and transmit this energy into one more positive.
Yep you can do anything you put your mind to.
You have the knowledge, Right?
When you feel this fear how do you react?
Make sure you pay attention to this.
Do you let your mind spin out of control?
Never shut these thoughts down work through them, figure out where they are coming from and learn to turn this around into something more positive OK!
Is This Fear Real?
You cannot convince yourself that this is not real, you need to turn this thinking around and think about what is true for you.
Don’t beat yourself up about it, because you cannot change anything until you are aware of what is true.
Take this fear and work on it, don’t resist it.
What is something that you have been wanting to do that is scaring you?
Now what are your thoughts that come to mind about this?
What kind of energy are you getting when you think about this?
Bring your full attention to this feeling!
What are you thinking?
Can you see new possibilities on how you can get over this?
Let go of this fear and move forward.
Become conscious of your thoughts, then pay attention to this and become aware of the feeling, then take action on this fear.
Do not avoid it, make the commitment and do it!
Do not let this fear dominate you, there really is nothing to be afraid of, remember you can do anything you put your mind to.
