Finding Your Passion!

Define Your Passion?

Define-Your-PassionIn order to define your passion first you must know the meaning of this word so let’s take a look at what the dictionary has to say about this word passion.

Passion is an intense emotion compelling a feeling, enthusiasm or a desire for something!

So with that said now let’s cover what you are passionate about OK!

Oh we all have so many idea’s swirling around in this head of ours and this is what makes it hard for us to stay focused. I have learned from previous mistakes that it is better to take just one passion and then to just stay focused on this alone.

You need to be clear on who you are and what your goals are in order to start to achieve them.

Start Doing Your Passion!

Find a mentor, take a class, get the education that is needed to help guide you to get the results you want. Nothing is going to happen if you just sit there and think about your passion.  Yes we all are passionate about many things.

Go ahead and make a list, below I have a few idea’s to help you get started.

Supporting Others

Now pick one, because if you focus on to many idea’s at one time you will get overwhelmed and then you know what will happen?

It is much better to go ahead and pick just one passion and then shift that mindset around and work out a game plan, one that is doable for you then take it one step at a time. The more successful you become the better you will feel at each step.

Failing With Your Passion

Now if you take this passion and run with it and things do not work out for you…

Learn from this passion and pick a new one!

Don’t set your self up for failure, work on your mindset. You are the only one who knows you!

Your Passion!

Check in with your inner self and ask “ Am I tapping into my passion?”

By surrounding yourself with others with the same passion!

Now this one was the most difficult for me, my family and friends all have that employee mindset and they do not understand my entrepreneurial ways. But I have found myself a group of people who I work with to help me to stay on track.

Try to stay away from those negative influences and just work on being the best version of you.

Yes pick your passion and focus on the positive and ignore the negative!

Start With A Small Goal This Week!

Yep Just One And Take Action!

Put this in writing so you know the exact steps you are going to take. I have found that setting up a vision board works for me.

I also have my calendar on the wall with my daily schedule on it ( A WHITE BOARD) always filled out and ready for me to take action.

It doesn’t really matter what actions you take, just find something that works for you, anything that moves you forward on your goals.

Find An Accountability Partner

Keep yourself accountable with an accountability partner. This is someone who will keep you motivated, someone who you can share your passion with. Having an accountability partner is powerful in accomplishing your goals.

Find out what works best for you! Your Passion! You and You alone are Responsible for YOU!

I have said this before and this is exactly what I have learned from my online ventures. Yes you can find yourself a mentor and can listen and learn but if you are not willing to take action and do the work you will never achieve your passion!

Pick One Idea and Focus on it!

One last thing before I let you go :)

Celebrate even the smallest victories along the way, this will help you keep moving forward towards achieving your goals.

Honesty, a lot of people have problems defining their passion… their true passion. Some people like myself have a lot of talents in a lot of areas, and even for me, it took years to whittle it down to what I do today.

After defining, the next thing is being persistent and keeping that flame going strong.

    • says

Hello Nile, Yes I do agree we all have more then one passion and it does take time to find the one that will work for you HUH? I also love the way you state to keep the flame going strong OH SO TRUE!! Thanks for sharing my friend.. Chery :))

    Hi Chery,
Thank you so much for this wonderful and thought provoking piece!
Yes, each one have their own passion, but some get developed further,
but, sad for some it subside there itself. Yes, As you said: “Nothing is going to happen if you just sit there and think about your passion.” that is the keyword here, we need to work out well with our passion otherwise it will not get developed or get benefited to others!
Great lessons you share here Chery.
Thank you so much for the step by step let me say TUTO for your readers.
    Have a wonderful time ahead
Good to hear from you again
    Thanks for your offer.
    Best Regards,

Chery, that is great, finding your core passion.

Looking for mentor with ethical activities and focused on helping you to the best of their knowledge is hard. No one will just have one mentor in live.

You have to travel this journey knowing that people are limited. So, knowing what you want and it is your passion that is driving you. Then, make contact and learn from those who are at the point or milestone you are at that point. Move on and find another mentor, at the next level.

I have hundreds of mentors. I learn how to be resourceful by knowing the end result will be my choice. If it did not work the first time. I just start over again until I get it the way I want it. The way I visioned. I am grateful of the thousands of mentors in my life. Yet, I can not give credit to just one.

Thank you Chery for making us realize no one can do it on their own. No matter what, you need people with the experience and knowledge you do not have. Yet, in the near future you will have it. Talk will not get you paid. You can not live your passion if you have no food on the table.

Passion finding then learn from someone who knows how to shape just by sharing you passion. You get paid. That is the ultimate package.

    Hi Chery,

That was a lovely post indeed :)

Yes, I agree with what Nile said – most of us have a tough time realizing what our passion really is, or what we would like to do or become, till it’s too late in the day. While there are so many others who would go right ahead and achieve success in no time, because they are focused and know what they want to do, so they don’t waste time deciding on things.

I guess finding your passion depends on a lot of things, but mostly it depends on you and your self-confidence and will power to go ahead and just get out there to get things done.

Thanks for sharing. Have a nice week ahead :)

Hello Harleena, I do agreewith both of you figuring out what we are passionate about and making it work to our avdantage, for most of us takes time, This is why I suggested making a list and then choosing just one and work with this until you achieve your goals. If not then try something else. Nothing is set is stone Right? I know it may take a while to figure out but what happens if you do nothing? Nothing Right? LOL

Thanks for the wonderful comment my friend, it it always nice to see you here..Chery :))

I so agree Chery about getting support from those with the same mindset – small groups are great for this, and it brings some separation from family thoughts which may not be as positive about your business.
Again, focus and accountability are essential to growing ones business with Passion … and the Key is… Define Your Passion.
Beautifully written Chery, and I love the vision board concept :)

  8. says

    Hi Chery,

This is definitely the nicest post about passion. First, many people have their mind on different passions. One should be focused on one thing at a time. Having too much things to worry about, will only land oneself in trouble.

It happens many times, we chat and be a part of the group with total contrast mindset, and thus we accompany ourselves with only negative energy. Discovering the correct passion is the key to success. Anyway, I found this post on Kingged.

    • says

Wooo Hooo Rohan! You got that right my friend! positive enegrgy is the only way to go! I dont care what your passion is, if you do not have that positive mindset you will fail miserably.. Thanks for the Awesome comment, Love It.. Chery :))

  9. says

    Hi Chery,

Excellent explanation about finding your Passion! I love the steps you wrote of how to look inside and find what exactly you are passionate about. Plus…if it doesn’t work out it is OK. We have many passions, and if one doesn’t work in the blogosphere, there is always another we can share.

And yes, I do agree that we need to surround ourselves with others that have the same kind of mindset. Most of our family and friends will still have the employee mentality. In order to pump up our path, we do need to find others like us. Oh boy is that so easy to do when you get online.

For those who have difficulty with this, your new on line friends will become your best friends.

    Great post!

    • says

Hello Donna, I agree it is easy once you know where to look for those who have the same goals as yourself. HUH? There are thousands of people out there looking to connect with others with the same mindset and YES They WILL become your Best Friends.. Thanks for adding to the conversation today, Always so nice to see you here my friend..Chery :))

  10. says

    Hi Chery,

Really good post. I think, however, that people that want to blog their passion, end up lost most of the times.

“Now if you take this passion and run with it and things do not work out for you…

Learn from this passion and pick a new one!”

That’s easier said than done because alot of people will stick with it to try to make it work, or be so discouraged with their failure, that they won’t try to blog again. What are your thoughts on that?

I like the point about sticking around others with similar passions, because that’s the only way that you’ll grow in the passion you chose – if there are already other successful people in it.

    Really good post Chery.

    Have a great week.

    – Andrew

Hello Andrew, You have brought up a good point my friend, if we all gave p after failing we would never learn anything.. Yes we must learn from our mistakes and move on..

When I first got started online I had NO idea what I was passionate about, it took me years of trial and error to figure this out. Who knows where I would be had I of given up.. Great Question! I hope I answered it alright for you..

    Another epic content, Chery! :)

Passion has been very essential in anything you do, especially in what you’re doing here in the online world. I believe that passion belongs to the elements of success, and that’s the reason why I consider it very important.

As what you’ve said, you should first must know the real meaning of passion before finding what your passion really is. The tips you’ve shared are indeed relevant and helpful.
These will surely help many to determine the things they are most passionate about.

I must agree with you that celebrating even the smallest victories you have achieved will help you keep motivated in achieving your goals.

    Thanks for the post! :)

    Hi Chery,
Another powerful piece from you! Yes, we should find our passion and focus on it for success. Passion helps us to move ahead even when the ‘reward’ is not imminent! Every one needs a little bit of passion – in personal and business life!

I couldn’t agree with you more, we should pick one idea and focus on it! This can help bring about satisfying achievement! The idea of finding a mentor to help ignite our passion is noble!

I upvoted this post in kingged where it was shared for online marketers and bloggers.

    • says

Hello Sunday! Thanks for the wonderful comment my friend! Of course we are all passionate about many things and as you have stated choose one and focus on this one until you get your desired results.. It just makes sense HUH?? Thanks again for your comment and visit.. Chery :))

  13. says

    Hi Chery,

I really enjoyed the post, you’re spot on!

But, it is interesting. I’ve come to define passion a little bit differently. I define passion as that experience where the emotions of the heart meet in the middle with the logic of your mind, that equals passion.

One without the other is just emotion or logic and can leave you paralyzed or unable to make decisions; or you make rash decisions too quickly. In the end, passion balances the heart and mind so that you get clarity and focus.

Passion serves to answer the question “why” and opens the door to possibilities.

Hope that makes sense to you?

    ~ Don Purdum

    • says

Hello Don, Yes I do understand your definition of passion and do agree you do need to have your heartin what ever you do and Yes it does all come down to your why HUH?

Your comment really got me thinking this evening.. Thanks for adding to the conversation here today. I do appreciate it..

      Chery :))

  14. says

    Hey Chery,

Passion plus the action leads to satisfaction!

This was a great post and an important one. Without passion, then you’re bound to give up much easier, because you’re in it for the wrong reasons!

I like that you mentioned about being around the right people that have the same passion. They will definitely be more supportive of you than those that are more negative and as they say “trying to keep it real”. It was harder to find people to think the way I do. It seemed like a lost cost for me, but happen to find some great people.

One thing that helps is an accountability partner! This is a great way to keep each other in check when it comes to our passions and our goals. For me it’s a nice boost and motivating factor.

Thanks for sharing chery and I hope you’re having a great week!

Excellent message Chery. It’s surprising how many people are not clear about their passion or for that matter the difference between purpose and passion. One lesson I learned on the path to identifying my passion (and purpose) is that it isn’t necessarily what you do well. When I worked for other people I was repeatedly pigeonholed into doing certain types of work because I had a talent for it – but even then I knew that was more about a skill I had a knack for that anything that touched my soul. Your tips are great and I hope many people will follow your advice because it makes life so much more enjoyable and meaningful when you have a direction.

    • says

Hello Marty, I do agree that life can be si much more ebnjoyable and meaningful once you find your true passion. I do know it takes time, some of us longer then others LOL Thanks for adding to the conversation here today I do appreciate YOU.. Chery :))

  16. says

    Excellent advice Chery!

You definitely need to take your time, in order to first define your true passion. Then as you advocate for, stick to just one initially, in order to avoid the dreaded overload!
And lastly, to find yourself a capable respected mentor that’s willing to offer some personal and professional guidance.

And of course, as you also mentioned, it never hurts to surround yourself with like minded people! So you can continually encourage and support one another! Great post and love your insights!

    Hi Chery
Struggle is the fuel for hope. But passion is the fuel for struggle. If you keep struggling you will succeed sooner or later.
I once read somewhere you fail when you quit; before that you are in struggle and those who keep struggling never fail.
It is a renowned fact that the most effective success formula entirely bases on how much passionate you are about a cause.
Thanks a lot for sharing this wonderful post on passion after reading it I quite easily wrote a few lines above to further explain it. Your way of explaining it is really awesome.
    Have a great weekend.

Hi Chery, this is a wonderful idea, for finding a passion that’s going to work in business. Sometimes coaches advise people to go with their passion, whatever it is. However, as you know, some passions we have don’t work in business – or they might work for some people, but not for you. So, your methodology will be helpful to people, even if their first attempt doesn’t work out like they expected.

    • says

Good Morning Time Julieanne, Yes we all have so many things that we are passionate about Yet unfortunately they do not work in this business. My advice is to just tke on passion run with it, try it out and if it doesn’t work No Worries try something else. One of my mentors once told me, where will I be 5 years from now if I don’t try? This just made so much sense to me.. The key here is to keep on keeping on so to say and NEVER QUIT!!

Thanks for your comment and visit, I do appreciate it.. OH Happy Friendship Day.. Chery :))

  20. says

I think you are absolutely correct. The reason some people fail at their passion can be that they spread themselves too thin. They try to do too much at once, instead of finding one passion and mastering that. I think the hardest thing, though, for some people is actually finding their passion. There can be so many things in life that you like, or are good at, but to have passion for it can be hard to obtain. I recently found my passion in learning. Some may ask: how can that be a passion? Well, I love experiencing life, trying new things, learning new languages, because the more I learn the better of a person I become. So, I guess my passion lies in personal development. Thanks for sharing!

Hello Kyle, I do have to agree with you my friend, this is why it is so important to just take one passion and run with it, if it doesn’t work so be it! Chery, I wanted to let you know. I have found countless people who just want to establish a funding source. That is ethical and honest. Then, they can help others with worthy causes. Develop foundations to make awareness of that caused and bring in funding, for them.

There are millions of people who will help so many. Once they achieve getting their vision accomplished. It doesn’t take much. Yet, the first thing is being educated in our industry. Then, making the right choices. Only by completing due diligence, will this ever be done.

Thank you for all the daily empowering messages you post. Like I tell so many. You can be empowered and such. Yet, without clarity and focused execution of daily activities. To bring your unique vision into being. All the affirmations, and empowering sessions, are worth nothing. You have to have action, and the right one at that!

Keep us motivated and I pray everyone will also gain clarity to get things done.
