What Is Your Most Important Reason For You To Work From Home?

Work From Home?

There are so many reasons why you would choose to work from home, but the most important thing for me was to have the freedom to spend time with my Grandsons, Bredan & Alias.

The second reason is that I LOVE TO VACATION!

Well if you have been following me, then you know I just spent 11 Fun Filled Days with my Best Friend Kay in Florida.

What Is Your Most Important Reason For You To Work From Home?

Now I do know that you probably have more than one reason to work fulltime from home to, but what is your most important reason to work fulltime from home?

I know you have one, please share this below with a comment OK!

                               Work From Home Tips

Many people think working from home is all about sleeping in each day and hanging out all day at home in your jammies, but there is a whole lot more to it then this.

I feel it is important to get up each day and get dressed just as if you are going to a “Job.”

This just makes you feel better and makes you feel more like a professional and this is what you are Right?

You have to be very disciplined if you are going to work from home, this means taking action each day. No one is going to tell you what you need to do; it is going to be up to you to make these choices.

You need to do revenue producing activities. Like posting ads, writing blog posts or articles, taking time to follow up with your leads as well as working your social media sites.

If you are a social butterfly it may be hard for you to work from home because you actually have to work alone.

You do not have co-workers along side of you to socialize with each day.

It is up to you to reach out and make connections with others each day.

This can be very challenging at first, but I guarantee it will get easier with each call you do make.

The biggest challenge I found was to overcome distractions.

You will find that friends and family think just because you work from home that you have lots of free time and they will bother you at any hour of the day. You have to get a handle on this one right away.

You need to let everyone know you do have a Job!

Putting A Work From Home Schedule Together

If you truly want to work from home you will need to put together a schedule.

Go and pick up yourself a scheduler or just get yourself a notebook and actually write out your daily schedule.

You will be amazed at what you can get done if you have a schedule put together and follow it.

When I implemented this technique, things started to turn around for me.

Here is what you need to do.

1. Schedule time for breakfast

2. Some sort of exercise, maybe just a half hour walk.

3. Personal development.

4. Now you are ready for an hour of income producing activities

I just learned this technique, set a timer for 50 minutes and then a 10 minute break. Take this time to get a drink or a breath of fresh air.

This does work, if you can fit in 2 hours straight like this each day, you will be able to work from home and get more done than most people who work much more.

You will be more focused because you have cut out all distractions and have a schedule to follow.

We All Have Our Good Days And Our Bad Days

Yes you will find that there will be days when you do not want to work from home and when this happens, DON”T!

I am not saying to blow off a meeting or an important call that you have scheduled, but this is a huge benefit to work from home, you are in the position to change your schedule around a bit.

Just go and look at your schedule and make the needed changes to work from home.

Easy and simple, do not over complicate things, this will cause undo stress and this is another benefit you have to work from home.

To Have A Stress Free Life!

This is your choice, you can choose to be happy or choose not to be, these are really the only two choices you have.

Happiness Is A Choice

When you to choose to have a positive outlook on things, you will come up with solutions by focusing on everything that is going on in your life when you work from home.

If you start focusing on those things that you truly want it will manifest and become your reality and therefore help you to becoming successful when you work from home.

Magical things will start to happen to you when you make a commitment to get what ever it is you want.

When you fully commit to work from home you now have no other choice than to go and get it.

What it all comes down to is when you work from home, you are in control and this is all about how you act and respond to a particular situation.

I urge to find something that you are passionate about and move in that direction.

Start reading and learning everything that you can about this subject, once you find your purpose, this will fuel your productivity.

You and You alone are responsible for your own happiness; nobody can make you do anything that you are not willing to do.

So take my advice here work from home, take control and live the life of your dreams.

I am going to end this today by just telling you to be grateful for what you do have and then find something that you are passionate about and start living the life you and your loved ones deserve.

If you are struggling with this, Please reach out to me and let me show you exactly what I am passionate about, just make sure you are willing to help others and this WILL WORK and you will be able to work from home.

As always thanks for visiting my blog!

Chery, you are one of the most amazing women I have been honored to meet!

This has opened my eyes to getting more people active in live. No more sitting in front of their computers and typing. No outside activities and always watching the time they spend away from the home office.

You inspire us all with allowing us to follow your journey. It is about getting involved and celebrating life now. Not waiting for the right time? There will never be the right time, than now!

Keep our smiles warm and enjoy that life of yours!

“I feel it is important to get up each day and get dressed just as if you are going to a “Job.”

This just makes you feel better and makes you feel more like a professional and this is what you are Right?” – I love these lines Chery.

Working from home, wake up each day and get dressed just as if you are going to a “Job.” sounds bizarre but you yourself can benefit from it. I agree that by doing so, you can feel better. A room to work is also essential to focus with your work. You can discipline yourself to act professionally, because working online needs the right attitude. Right attitude to accomplish your daily, weekly and monthly schedules and tasks.

The tips you shared above is very useful. Managing our time is necessary. Simple steps make better outcomes.

    Hi Chery,
Working from home doesn’t necessarily mean doing less work compared to an office job. The former demands more discipline and willingness.

The quest to remain independence is my motivator for working from home but I have since realized that it takes more discipline and commitment to achieve that objective.
I share with your tips on how to make the most of working from home!
I have left the above comment on kingged.com where I read this article.

Distractions are a major one for me too, Chery, dating back to when I had a houseful of children, usually with a baby and a toddler. I never knew when to start something, for fear I would be interrupted partway through. And yet, I homeschooled them all, and made my own granola, baked my own bread, cooked soup in bulk… I guess I have no excuses now that all have left the nest but one! I’ve discovered I am my own worst distracter! (Is that a word?)

    • says

Hello Willena, **Distractions!** OH Yeh BUT It is amazing what we can do when we have to huh? I am pretty sure you will be just fine my friend, get yourself a gameplan and get after it! I know you can do it! Thanks for sharing.. Chery :))

My biggest reason for working from home are my 3 kids. I want to be always there for them.

I love the tip you mentioned to put a schedule everyday. That indeed works and I have tried it myself.

Thanks Chery for a wonderful motivating post. Enjoy your week ahead.

    Be Blessed,

Hello Neamat, Great reason to work from home Girl Friend! Our children grow up way to fast, before you know it they are gone and have families of their own. Thanks for adding to the conversation here today, always so nice to see you here.. Chery :))

  7. says

    Hello Chery,

Yes, you are right about when you work from home you have to let your family and friends know that you are working. Sometimes people think that when you are working from home that you aren’t actually doing anything but working from home is still working. You may not be going to a 9 to 5 but you are working just as hard.

One of my reasons that I love working from home is because you are on your own schedule. If you need to change it for any reason you can. It’s great to be on your own time.

Thanks for sharing this with us!

  8. says

    What a nice post Chery!

And I pretty much have to echo the sentiments of practically every body else.

Being able to live life on your own terms and interact with those “you want to,” instead
of those that you have to!

Thanks again for helping to show us the way!

    • says

Hello Mark! Yeppers it does seem unanimous HUH?? We all love to live our lives on our own terms, something we cannot do working for someone else HUH? Thanks for adding to the conversation here today my friend.. Chery :))

  9. says

The technique you are talking about is the “Pomodoro technique” where you work with little breaks.

It’s good technique especially if you don’t feel like writing or doing anything. It’s a good little trick to force your mind to keep going.

The only time when I think it is counter-productive is when you actually are in a good moment really inspired, I feel that the little breaks can break your rythme and your good moment of inspiration. Sometimes the whole day is a moment of inspiration so you don’t want to interrupt that.

The best reason to work at home is the freedom that comes with being your own boss. You get to be flexible in your day, go to vacation whenever you want etc….

    Great Post!!

    • says

Hello Claude, Yes I do agree momentum is a good thing and I do get in the zone sometimes and don’t want to take that break when my timer goes off, but you know what? I make myself do it and when I get back to work I find myself energized and ready to give it my all. Not sure it may just be me, but this works for me..

Now it seems Freedom is the main reason we all work from home HUH? Freedom to do our own thing! Right? Love Love Love This Conversation here.. Thanks for sharing.. Chery :))

      • says

I think the new luxury in this day and age is freedom and spare time. We are so f****** busy all the time. Technology has made everything simpler AND more complicated at the same time. I like technology but I think it sometimes can take too much space into our lives.

People are asking for quality of life now. People want more than just earn a lot, they want time to be able to enjoy themselves.

  10. says

    Hey Chery,

My reason was just to escape corporate America. I didn’t want that 8 to 5 or the co-workers with no work ethic. I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to actually make a living working out of the house but I’ve made that a reality.

Now that my Mom is next door to me it’s been even better. I can take her to her appointments because I can arrange my schedule any way I see fit in order to be there for her. I don’t really vacation much because of her and my dog but when I go I usually take her with me.

You do need to schedule things though and let everyone know you are working. My neighbors are still having a difficult time understanding this but I’m doing my best to constantly remind them. LOL!!!

Glad you’ve been off having fun again.

    ~Adrienne

Excellent work-from-home tips Chery. I actually had the opportunity to try working from home out for awhile before I jumped into it as a solopreneur. The company I worked for wanted to set up a satellite office in Hawaii so I ran that from my home. I’d always wondered if I would have the discipline to work from home and I fell right into and actually discovered I worked even harder in my own environment. Bottom line was that experience gave me the motivation I needed to take that final step. Thanks again for the great read and inspiration.

    • says

Hello Marty, What a great opportunity that had to be for you, good for you! To be able to work at home does take a certain kind of discipline that’s for sure, it is not for everyone, HUH? I know quite a few people who actually love to punch that time clock, once they punch out they don’t think about work until the next time they punch in. I guess us Entrepreneurs are a different breed HEHE Thanks for sharing my friend.. Chery :))

With having a dog and 2 kids even though they are in school is the reason I need to work from home. At least while they are at school I can concentrate on my work! And working outside of the home would just add to more stress with extra driving etc.

    Hi Chery,

I love working from home! Living the laptop lifestyle is fantastic. But one has to be disciplined and work their business as that… a business.

I’ve always been an entrepreneur offline, had a shop, an office and still had to “show up” even though it was close to my home. But since I took everything online and mobile, life is easier. I like working from home because it gives me the freedom to take a walk on the beach when I can (that’s why I moved to vacation land lol) It also is great because I have an elderly mom which I took in to keep my eye on and can take her to her doctors appointments, and her yoga classes. :)

The very best is that I can go on vacation, tell the world I am, but peek in once in a while to keep my business going.

    -Donna

    • says

Hello Donna! Yeppers my friend the Laptop Lifestyle is the only way to go HUH? I to have always been an offline entrepreneur and always have multiple things going on all the time. Oh Yeh I was always away, just ask my sons, they will surely let you know their MOM was pretty much non existent.

Not the best way to raise 2 boys, but I had to do what I had to do, the laptop lifestyle was not an option for me back then..

Well Girl Thanks for sharing and do have an Awesome Weekend Ahead.. Chery :))

  15. says

Hi Chery. Great article on working from home. It’s not for everyone, which is a good thing, because we need policemen, firemen, doctors, nurses, etc. I love it, though. I like being able to set my own hours, and I can also work from my vacation home. It’s a great life.

    All the best,
    Leslie

  16. says

    Hi Chery!

I have owned my 3 successful businesses for 25 years and always I have “worked from home”. I have an office, but I can pad over there in my PJ’s and slippers with no problem!

All that you suggest in this post is wonderful for helping people stay focused and treat their businesses like business, even in their PJ’s or sweatpants!! At this point I can’t even imagine having to “go to work” somewhere other than home – or the beach – or a mountain cabin!

In fact when I do have to venture out into the business world in person – like these next two weeks as I embark on a two week speaking tour – “what to wear” is my biggest concern!! Imagine the thought process that must go into clothing that is both professional, a bit funky, and still comfortable!! It’s one thing I rarely think about and it consumed my thought all last week as I was completing my speeches and power points!

Nice article Chery! Enjoy those vacations!

Hello Deborah, What a great comment and one I guess we as work from home entrepreneurs have to worry about LOL Such a problem to have. Right? I am sure you will look fine with what ever you do end up choosing to wear..

Great post Chery! I love the freedom and kind of life of working at home. More so working online will not limit me to working from one spot. For example I can visit my mom and still be able to to do my work online. Thanks for the tips on managing time when working from home.

    • says

Hello Siposith. I do agree with you 100% I am currently visiting my son today and tomorrow I will be going to my parents. So Very TRUE there is NO other job in the world like working online HUH? Thank you for sharing my friend! I do appreciate you… Chery :))

    Hi Cheryl,
Great post! The most important reason that I enjoy working from home is FREEDOM and being my own BOSS :) No one to answer too……which is so awesome! Having the freedom and the time to make my passion a reality is what I am truly grateful for on a daily basis :) I am constantly learning and educating myself on what I need to do to make my passion a thriving business so I can continue to work from home and enjoy the freedom and money that comes along with that!

Thanks for sharing your awesomeness my friend!

  19. says
